We visited Sri Lanka in January 2012 and had a fantastic time. Apart from being a beautiful country, much of it was thanks to Nimal for organising such a great trip. I randomly found his details on the web and contacted him to compare his tour with an Intrepid one we had been considering. But for the price Nimal offered, and the flexibility with the things we wanted to see and do (including a few days doing nothing on a beach), we found that there really was no option!
Organising the trip was almost too easy. Our numbers kept changing as other friends decided to come, then couldn't get leave etc. I was embarrassed by the constant changes we made, but it didn't seem to be a problem Nimal. In the end, three of us started the trip and another joined us half way through.
Our tour went from Negembo, up to Sigiriya and Polonnuruwa, then down through the tea plantations and central highlands to Ella and finally we spent a few days on the beach at Beruwala. Nimal had given us a rough itinerary, so we thought we knew what was included, but he had organised so much more than we had expected –airport pick up, guides at most of the sites, safaris, more meals than we thought were included, great hotels and lots of side activities that hadn’t been mentioned before, so it was great to be able to just sit back, relax and take in that fantastic country.
